The Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union is seeking an AVP of Mortgage Operations. Candidates for this position will have at least 5-8 years of experience and thorough knowledge of the secondary market, including extensive experience with first and second mortgage residential real estate lending. This role will require daily supervision and involvement with the Mortgage process including origination, processing, underwriting, and closing. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring and organizing workflow within the Mortgage Origination area and reviewing procedures to create efficiencies within pipeline management
  • Carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies and applicable laws including employee relations, problem solving, performance coaching, limiting CU vulnerability by ensuring cross-training within departments, etc.
  • Direct review, evaluation, and approval of mortgage files using sound judgment and knowledge of investor guidelines
  • Providing oversight for the management of mortgage sales and evaluating, selling, and servicing our portfolio ensuring compliance
  • Keeping staff informed of current trends and market factors affecting mortgage lending while suggesting and implementing new products and services to make offerings more competitive
  • Oversight of census track reports and other documents needed to comply with the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act

The ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, as well as the ability to plan, prepare, and implement strategic corporate and department goals is necessary for success in this role.
